The size of your roof is the biggest factor when it comes to cost. Generally, roofers charge per roofing square, which is 10×10 feet (100 square feet.) For example, if a roof is 2000 square feet, it will be broken down into 20 roofing squares. The larger the roof, the more expensive the job.
How complex is your roof?
If your roof is particularly high or hard to access, the job is going to cost more. Can trucks be pulled up close to the house? If not, that equals more labor for the contractors. The pitch of your roof also has a strong influence on the price. The steeper the pitch, the more safety concerns and equipment will be required for the roofers on the job, adding to the overall cost.
